也许对于大多数普通消费者来说，建议零售价和简单折扣仍是商家的主流定价策略。但事实要远比想象要复杂。目前许多经济学家和数据科学家正利用互联网经济的规模和便利的试验来制定更详细更针对性的定价体制，（电脑模拟状态下，数据试验的成本会非常低。）只不过身为“小白鼠”的我们还懵懂未知。晚上7点前消费者是否愿意花更多的钱买一双鞋？郊区居民愿意接受的价位是否不同于市区居民？为什么购物网站上同一件商品的价格和飞机票一样总是在不断变化？电商的定价团体利用在不同时点和针对不同分层的消费者显示不同的价格，来收集更多的数据并根据结果流量来试出最能够掏空消费者钱包的价格。虽然亚马逊的相关人员辩解说，价格变化只是为了让消费者享受最大优惠。

This success, coupled with later research showing that memory itself is not genetically determined, led Ericsson to conclude that the act of memorizing is more of a cognitive exercise than an intuitive one.
